What we plan (or planned) to say at the FOSB meeting

11 October

We’d like to ask FOSB to approve us (as Salmon Bay Legislative reps) signing the Paramount Duty Resolution for organizations. There is also an “individual” form for people to sign if they prefer. These documents were prepared by Seattle PTA and have been signed by several PTAs, legislative representatives, and other organizations and individuals.

What is the legislature doing with levy swaps?

News from Olympia

The Associated Press reported Wednesday that the Washington Senate offers bill to fix school funding.
Excerpt: The measure proposes a new statewide teacher salary schedule and bans the use of local levy dollars for basic education. The bill would ask the state auditor and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to keep an eye on local school districts to make sure they aren’t breaking the law.
