After-School Programs

We bring excellent community partners to campus so students can explore new passions, get creative, and have fun with friends on-campus after the school bell rings. From cooking and ceramics to chess, robotics, coding, and debate, there is something for every curious mind!

  • Sessions: fall, winter, and spring
  • Location: on school campus
  • Frequency: each class meets once per week
  • Length: 60 to 90 minutes, starting 10 minutes after the school bell

Note: Enrichment classes are once-a-week clubs that are separate from COHO, the daily childcare program operated on-site by the Ballard Boys & Girls Club.

Registration

  • Browse & Register on 6Crickets: Most classes are coordinated through our Salmon Bay 6Crickets Portal. You can explore detailed course descriptions, instructor bios, grade levels, and pricing here.
  • Enrollment Minimums: Every class requires a minimum number of students to run. Signing up early helps ensure your child’s favorite class is confirmed!
  • Partner Programs: A few special mini-sessions (such as STEM4Good’s Habitat Heroes) use their own external registration links, which will be shared directly during open enrollment.

Scholarships & Volunteering

We believe enrichment should be accessible to every single student.

  • Confidential Scholarships: Need-based full and partial scholarships are readily available. You can select this option confidentially at checkout on 6Crickets or email us anytime.
  • Volunteer in Lieu of Tuition: We love parent helpers! If you chaperone a class for the session by helping with attendance and check-in, your child’s tuition for that class is completely free.

Safety & Student Care

  • Vetted Educators: All vendor instructors undergo national background checks, meet school district volunteer clearance standards, and carry full liability insurance.
  • Afternoon Transitions: When the dismissal bell rings, students head straight to their assigned enrichment space where attendance is taken right away.
  • End-of-Day Pick-Up: To keep our school secure and dismissal running smoothly, parents or authorized caregivers will meet instructors at the designated exterior building doors for check-out promptly at class end.
  • A Positive Community Culture: Our instructors are passionate educators who love working with kids. We ask families to partner with us in reinforcing kind, respectful, and safe classroom habits so every student can have a wonderful experience.
