Fireside Chat with Lenore Skenazy
Rescheduled from last year!
Even a tornado couldn’t keep us from hosting the inimitable Lenore Skenazy
November 6, 2025 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Salmon Bay K8 Library!
By now, most parents have heard the news: American children are less happy and more anxious than ever before. This matters because how happy you are as a kid is the biggest predictor of how happy—and successful—you’ll be as an adult.
We can fix this. For free. And fast. And Lenore Skenazy will tell you how!
Let Grow! For 15 years, Lenore Skenazy has led the movement for childhood independence. She has seen firsthand the transformative power of independence for kids and families. As President and CEO of Let Grow, the world’s leading organization for childhood independence, she advocates for kids’ freedom through policy change, community-building, and curriculum. She’s got ideas aplenty, she’s not here to judge, and she’s really, really funny.
Join us for an interactive “fireside chat” with Lenore Skenazy about the state of childhood and how you can change your kids’ lives for the better. Please note that we will be meeting in the library, but Lenore Skenazy will be joining us live via Zoom.
RSVP for the event and sign-up for free childcare + pizza for potty-independent children of attending adults. Walk-ins welcome, space permitting.
Hosted by the FOSB Parent Information Exchange Committee (PIE) and Liz Hunter, Salmon Bay parent, Let Grow Play Club mentor, and childhood independence advocate and writer.
