Creative Drama (Grades K-2)
Join us to explore a world we collectively create and play in! We will move our bodies, use our voices, and play acting games to create a variety of imaginary characters and places to visit. As a team of explorers, help us solve all kinds of problems we encounter in these worlds. We’ll use basic art supplies and found objects from around our houses to bring our stories to life. This one-hour class will meet eight times.
Schedule: Mon., 11/30, 12/7, & 12/14 (3-4pm); Wed., 12/2, 12/9, & 12/16 (2-3pm); Thurs., 12/10 & 12/17 (3-4pm)
Dance for Musical Theatre (Grades 3-6)
Learn and perform a choreographed piece to music from Broadway. (Musical to be announced soon.) We’ll learn about different styles of musical theatre dance and learn common dance steps that may be useful in future auditions or productions. This class assumes little-to-no knowledge of musical theatre dance: if your student is experienced in dance, they will hopefully find the class fun, but may not find the class challenging. This two-hour class will meet six times.
Schedule: 12/2 – 12/9, 3:15-5:15pm (No class on Saturday or Sunday)
Improv (Grades 5-8)
Jump into the basics of improvisational theatre! Intimidated by memorization? Have fun bringing your own goofiness onto the stage? In improv, we’ll explore how to work together to tell stories and create characters. This skill-building class will have a strong ensemble focus, and will culminate in a short, informal presentation. This 90-minute class will meet eight times.
Schedule: Tues., 12/1, 12/8, & 12/15 (3-4:30pm); Thurs., 12/3, 12/10 & 12/17 (3-4:30pm); Fri., 12/11 & 12/18 (3-4:30pm)
