PAYING FOR 2025-26 SCHOOL FEES, INCLUDING CAMPS

Student Fees

Salmon Bay’s staff, administration, and volunteers work together to offer many opportunities throughout the year for learning outside the school building. These enriching opportunities cost more than the funding provided by the district. Families are asked to contribute per student.

This school year student fees will be collected twice. The Fall Payment includes fees for school supplies, enrichment, full camp payments for 5th and 6th graders, camp deposits for all other grades except kindergarten. Spring Payment includes fees for Middle School Spring Enrichment Program (SEP) and camp payments for all grades other than 5th and 6th.

Families can expect to receive payment links from the school volunteer coordinator, Lara Cowles, or classroom teacher in early September for the Fall Payments, and late January for the Spring Payments. Payments can be made in full or in installments via the SchoolPay online system.

Payment links can also be found here:

The school supply fee is new this year, more info here. Elementary enrichment is for field trips planned by teachers throughout the year; 7/8 grades attend Fall Connections; 6th grade spring outing. Camp payments for 5th and 6th graders are collected in the fall as their camp dates are earlier in the school year. Fall deposits are collected for most other grades. Some Spring fees are estimated and will be finalized by January, if necessary.

Scholarship Support

Partial or full scholarships are requested by emailing the school social worker Allie Ash (aeash@seattleschools.org) or the middle school counselor Rob Bright (rabright@seattleschools.org).

Fall 2025 After School Programs

Registration for after school programs has opened. We’ve got some fantastic new additions this year, including The Pantry, School Year Round Spanish, and Creative Writing. And don’t worry, we’re bringing back old favorites like Stop Motion Animation, Ceramics, and Dungeons and Dragons!

You can find all the details on age groups, dates, and times on 6Crickets. Have questions about scholarships, paid volunteer opportunities, or the program in general? Reach out to the planning team at fosbafterschool@gmail.com.

Interested in shaping the future of our afterschool program? Consider joining the committee for the 2025-26 school year. We’d love your help finding even more valuable opportunities for everyone at Salmon Bay!

2025-2026 School Supplies

FOSB is excited to announce to Elementary school families that for the 2025-2026 school year we have coordinated with the teachers and will be ordering bulk school supplies on your behalf. This means that in the fall, elementary families will pay a supply fee directly to FOSB and will not individually shop for school supplies (Please see the note below about middle school students). This allows K-5 teachers to have exactly what they need before students arrive in September and saves families the hassle of school shopping. Bulk supply purchasing also allows for better savings on item prices.

Elementary students can expect a fee of $50-$60 per student which will also cover copy paper and classroom supplies for the year. As this is our first year doing this, please note that teachers may still ask for donations of items for class specific activities throughout the year as needs arise.

Middle School students can expect to pay a small fee for community supplies in the fall while also providing many of their own supplies (see lists). Middle school staff are structuring supply procurement this way in an effort to help students take more personal ownership and better understand that there is not an infinite supply of materials. Community supplies will support teachers as well as provide copy paper and a planner for each student.  The links for supply lists for Middle School students will soon be added.

The fee amounts are being fine tuned as teachers finalize their needs. More info will be shared in August or September – keep an eye out for an email from the school office (most likely Tae). FOSB will also post details to our FB page and update this post as soon as possible. Payments will be made through the FOSB (nonprofit groups) Schoolpay page or by check, similar to how camp fees are paid. Scholarships and partial payments are available, supported by donations to FOSB. Scholarship information is forthcoming. Stay tuned!
