Meeting guidelines
- Meetings start and end on time.
- We conduct business one item at a time.
- Courtesy and respect are expected; we assume good intentions and encourage constructive comments. And we appreciate differences and explore impasses.
- Participatory decision-making requires information beforehand, so we ask that handouts be provided (and reviewed) in advance of meetings to help participants come prepared and informed.
- We clarify the goal of a discussion or meeting before proceeding.
- We discourage crosstalk.
- We limit discussion to the topic at hand.
- The meeting facilitator may redirect the group back to the topic and serve as timekeeper.
- We conduct status checks to point out progress being made.
