May FOSB Happenings

Here’s what’s happening with FOSB this month. We’ll update this post when new items are added. You’ll find Zoom meeting links in the Weekly Bulletin (sent each Friday via email).

Staff Appreciation Week
May 3 – 7
Please take a moment to write a note of thanks or appreciation to our amazing Salmon Bay teachers and staff members!

Spring After School Theatre Opportunity
Registration is coming soon for After School Theatre’s last play of the school year! This will be an online play and all students in grades 2 – 8 are invited to participate. Check our web page (www.friendsofsalmonbay.org/after-school-theatre) or email Program Coordinator Biz Freebairn.

FOSB needs new leaders!
Our middle school co-chair and middle school treasurer both have 8th grade students and will be leaving Salmon Bay after this school year, so their positions will be open in the fall. We would also love to see more folks become FOSB directors. If you’re interested in sharing your leadership skills with FOSB, or if you have questions about what these roles look like, let us know! Learn more about FOSB leadership.

Monthly FOSB Meeting
Thursday, May 13 at 7 p.m.
We’ll be voting on our budget for the next school year. Join us!

Parent Education Event: Digital Safety
Wednesday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m.
After more than a year of remote schooling, nonstop developments in educational technology, and social media overload — now more than ever — it’s important for families to educate themselves on digital safety. In this FREE presentation, Jo Langford (dad, Master’s-level therapist, author and sex educator for tweens, teens and parents) will help parents figure out how to balance their family’s digital life with boundaries, etiquette, and good judgment. Please register at: https://tinyurl.com/digitalsafety2021.
